Life Fitness X5i is named a Consumers Digest Best Buy |
Magazine calls elliptical cross-trainer “a joy to use”
FRANKLIN PARK, Ill. – Jan. 16, 2004 – Life Fitness, the leading manufacturer of a full line of cardiovascular and strength-training equipment, is pleased to announce its X5i total-body elliptical cross-trainer has been named a Consumers Digest Best Buy.
Selected as a Best Buy among premium equipment, the Life Fitness X5i is described in the January/February 2004 issue of Consumers Digest as a “beautiful elliptical [that] is a joy to use.” The publication specifically mentions several of the features that make the X5i easy to customize to any fitness regimen, including 11 preset workout programs plus a manual setting, and Life Fitness’ proprietary SelectStride technology, which lets exercisers simulate walking, jogging, running or sprinting by choosing one of four variable stride lengths.
Regardless of the stride length selected, the X5i ensures that upper-body and lower-body movements are synchronized, allowing exercisers to burn maximum calories with lower perceived exertion. Users can even pause their workouts at any time, adjust the stride and resume their workouts.
“We know that for people to stick with their exercise regimens, working out has to be fun,” said Lisa Nowak, business director, total-body elliptical cross-trainers and stairclimbers, of Life Fitness. “So to have the X5i recognized as fitness equipment that’s enjoyable to use by a prestigious publication such as Consumers Digest is extremely rewarding. As a fully featured cross-trainer, the X5i was built with features and programming that are designed specifically to help exercisers enjoy their workouts and keep up their exercise regimens.”
The X5i features Polar telemetry heart rate monitoring and interactive heart rate Zone Training+ workouts that automatically adjust the machine’s resistance level to keep users in their age-recommended heart rate zones. For even more variety, it includes 20 resistance levels and lets users move forward and backward. In addition, the My Workouts function allows users to save up to four favorite programs in the system’s memory. The X5i is part of Life Fitness’ complete lineup of total-body elliptical cross-trainers, which includes the X3, X3i X5 and X9i, which is the home version of Life Fitness’ health club elliptical cross-trainer.
With a lifetime warranty on the frame, three years on parts and one year on labor, the X5i is available at authorized specialty fitness equipment dealers nationwide and has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $3,499.
